International Widow Day

International Widow Day

International Widow’s Day, June 23rd, is a United Nations ratified day of action to address the injustices and difficulties faced by millions of widows around the world.  Sudha society is determined to empower widows to support themselves and their families enabling them to cut the cycle of poverty and abuse. We encourage people to join our efforts and support the unprivileged so our society becomes inclusive, resilient, and equal for all.

On 7/6/2020, in Fazilpur Gurugram, Shri Santosh Singh, the guard of South City 2, unfortunately met with an accident. After his passing, we with the support of  the residents of South City 2, with their  contributions especially from the A1 block residents, provided his widow, Smt. Sonmati Singh, help of  Rs.51000 on International Widow’s Day, and  also made provision of another Rs. 55000 in an FD for her child’s ( Aryan) education so that with bank interest earned he could continue his further studies.

Thanks to Shri Amitabh Khare Resident of A1 block South City 2 Gurugram for his first contribution made  for this cause and his initiative.we are also making arrangements for Smt. Sonmati S/o Late Santosh Singh to receive vocational training through RUDSET Institute Gurugram which will help her create a brighter future for herself and her family. Today we are reminded that there are countless people who risk everything to keep us safe, be it a community guard or brave soldiers on our borders, and they do so leaving their loved ones behind knowing they may not return.

Especially in these troubling times, we encourage everyone to reach out and help those who need it the most, as we were able to help Smt. Sonmati.
