Before celebrating International Literacy Day, it is important to know the meaning of literacy. The word literacy is derived from the word Saakshar, which means a person capable of understanding letters i.e. one who is capable of reading and writing. Literacy Day is celebrated to promote education from children to the elderly. On this Literacy Day, Sudha Society Foundation distributed books, slates, paper sheets and play toys in Samaspur Gurgaon.
