The Times Of India Coverage 2018 GK Bhatnagar, Sudha Society

Mr. Gopal Krishna Bhatnagar is a man who decided to embark on a new venture to serve the society, to empower the youth. He got the opportunity to work with Ministry of HRD in the year 2003 in women empowerment project supported by World Bank and IFAD as a principal consultant. His efforts to pay back to the society did not come to an end there, he worked with different NGOs and organisations within his capacity, until he founded his NGO.

Once, Mr. Bhatnagar visited a temple, where a few kids approached him, begging for alms. When he questioned the kids, why don’t they attend school, one of them said, “Uncle, please open a school for us, where we can study for free, our parents do not have money to send us to school”. He went on to establish an open learning school, for the underprivileged, the same year in the year 2009. He is now running the school under a tree since last 10 years in Gurugram with the help of dedicated volunteers, and once the students are provided with basic education, they are encouraged to seek admission in schools through the economically weaker section category. More than 500 kids have now been admitted to regular schools Like DPS Shiksha Kendra and nearest Government Schools.

The open school became a place for achieving dreams and success for many children, which led to Mr. Bhatnagar forming an organization, SUDHA (Society for Upliftment and Development of Human-beings by Action) with highly qualified board members to achieve the objective of social justice through total development of the weaker sections of the society on legal basis.

Times of India published his story and highlighted his achievements in October 28, 2018 edition, to inspire and motivate others, that at this very moment, there are individuals only you can reach, and differences only you can make in their lives.
