Earth Day

Earth Day

Every year…. with hope, Greenery should grow,

So that Earth could be heaven!!

With this hope, Sudha Society celebrated World Earth Day (April 22, 2019) with Sudha Open School kids. SUDHA Society annually celebrates Earth Day usually commemorated with outdoor activities demonstrating support for environmental protection, these include planting trees, collecting roadside trash and conducting recycling and conservation programs. This year, with an aim to encourage people across the country to be more environmentally friendly, SUDHA Open School students distributed 51 lily plants to the residents of the area. The plants were planted in coconut shells. Using coconut shells as simple and eco-friendly planters gave a message to the people about- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle- Three great ways WE can eliminate waste and protect our environment!

Waste, and how we choose to handle it, affects our environment (The environment is everything around us including the air, water, land, plants, and man-made things). And since by now we probably know that you need a healthy environment for our own health and happiness, we can understand why effective waste management is so important to us and everyone else. The waste we create has to be carefully controlled to be sure that it does not harm our environment and our health. We can help by learning about and practicing the three R's of waste management: Reduce, reuse, and recycle! Practicing all three of these activities every day is not only important for a healthy environment, but it can also be fun too. So, let's take a pledge right now to become a key player in making our world a safe and healthy place.

The event was a great success with the help of participation and corporation of everyone. As Margaret Mead accuratelysaid “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” SUDHA Society never give-up on trying to make the world a better place.
